Ways you can conserve energy:

  • Use motion sensors used in low traffic areas and outdoor lighting.
  • Keep fixtures free of dust to prevent fewer lamps.
  • Use task lighting in kitchen or other work areas instead of lighting the entire room.
  • Replace incandescent lamps with fluorescent or LED lamps when possible.
  • Use occupancy sensors in the bathrooms and other areas of the home when possible.

FAQs

Why do I need to regularly need to maintain my lighting?

Regularly maintaining your lighting will ensure less strain on your fixtures, prolong the life of your fixtures and be more cost efficient in the long run. Without regular maintenance your fixture could potentially cause your fixtures to burn out.

Why do incandescent lamps use so much more energy than fluorescent or LED lamps?

Incandescent lamps are basically finely coiled wire filaments in a glass bulb filled with gas. When the lamp is turned on, the electricity heats up the coil and gives off the light. The only problem is that 90% of the energy is heat and the other 10% is light. A fluorescent lamp operates differently where there are no coiled filaments but the electricity flows through a phosphorous material and converts the ultraviolet energy into light.

Are you only limited to maintaining light fixtures?

No. Our employees are fully qualified electricians that can handle all aspects of electrical work.
